Height. 10cm - 30cm
Leaves. Mostly in basal rosette, oblong, unspotted and appear in late winter - early spring.
Flowers. Variable in colour, purples, reds, lilacs sometimes pink or white. Lateral sepals with green veins, sepals and petals close together to form a hood. Lip three lobed, spotted in the center.
Flowering period. April - May
Soil type. Weakly acid or calcareous. Full sun or partial shade.
